Comments: MLB Playoffs... must be time for ANNOYING FOX ANNOUNCERS

I'm generally willing to give Joe Buck the benefit of the doubt - after all, it IS tough to fill all that airtime with jibber-jabber, and he learned an awful lot from his sainted father - but that little gem is inexcusable.

And Tim McCarver needs to keep his mouth shut about pitching. As Bob Gibson once told him, "The only thing you know about pitching is it's hard to hit".

I had two tv's side by side: one with the VP debate (volume on) and one with the game (volume off). I thought it was damn annoying to listen to Cheney while the game was going on. But then, after the debate, I turned the volume on the game up only to hear McCarver go on and on and on and on about how silly he was for saying 'So in a sense..." I missed dick cheney at that point. But, bottom line is TWINS WIN!

Re: A few years ago McCarver said "No one in baseball makes that barehanded play down the third base line better than Scott Brosius."
What McCarver meant to say (in order to qualify under the "No one" category, is..
"No one in baseball, who thanks the Lord on a daily basis that he is not a Phillie any longer and thus playing for the sad sack organization that the Phillies are, makes that barehanded play down the third base line..."
McCarver WILL be saying this in the near future.
"No one in baseball, who regrets every dinger he hit for that Mickey Mouse organization known as the Philadelphia Phillies, is as happy a home run hitter playing today for (insert the name of an HONESTLY competing for playoffs team here), as is Jim Thome".

Unbelievable!!! Can Bowa and leave that snivelling Ed Wade as GM. Nobody, NOBODY with a chin as he has should be in a management position.

Joe Buck is once again the most annoying announcer out there. From his sappy stories about each player to his obvious love affair for the losing YANK-MEE's.... he has got to go. Can't a fan watch the game with at least a one or two second period of complete silence from the melodramatic announcers in the box? It can be nice to hear the sounds of the ball park rather than BUCKY BOY all the time!
