Comments: Maybe This Isn't It

As a resident of the Greater Washington DC area, I am totally embarrassed to be associated with the total and blatant lack of integrity and character being demonstrated by Ms. Cropp and other Council members including Mr. Fenty, who believe it is more important to use this process to under gird a future Mayoral candidacy than honor the agreement made with Major League Baseball months ago. Where was all this dissention months ago when the presentations and proposals were being made, or when the victory party was held after the deal was solidified and Ms. Cropp stood on the stage and screamed loudest and longest? Now she claims to be interested in the welfare of the residents of the city? No, let’s be honest, what she is doing now is accurately described in most circles as the old “BAIT & SWITCH”. We sat at the negotiations table like a big player, but when it is time to do what you AGREED TO DO--- you play the PUNK and back out of the deal and try to get a new deal. Now, I could see if this deal offered by Major League Baseball wasn’t the SAME deal presented to every other city given a franchise, but why is it a problem for DC? Maybe we should really do a better job of GIVING Council Seats to people that apparently have no legitimate business experience or common sense and obviously no sense of principle. Every resident of this area should be ashamed to have our area judged by this display of unrighteousness and lack of fundamental character and honor. If you are not really a player, you should stay out of the game! It is that same “ghetto” mentality that caused the city to lose the Redskins to Maryland and if you haven’t looked lately, Landover and Prince Georges County is BLOWING UP all the while laughing at the FOOLS in DC that let them go.
