Comments: Book review: The Iowa Baseball Confederacy

Loved all of Kinsella's books, even the non-baseball ones. You're right about "The Iowa Baseball Confedracy"; hope it gets some more readers thanks to your blog. Have you read any of MArk Harris' stuff? "Bang the Drum Slowly" might ring a bell; it's one of a set of four books that he wrote on baseball. Terrific writer. The movie of "bang..." actually followed the book fairly closely. It's one of my all-time favorite baseball related pics.
A list of Harris' books are here:

I'm glad you, too, have discovered the mind-blowing wonder of the IBC. I'd love to see it as a movie, but it's simply too sprawling and wild and dark to make a viable commercial film. It's one of my favorite books, though; I've probably read it 20 times. And I've felt like Gideon Clarke more often than I'd care to admit...
