Actually, I suspect he only raised to $800 *because* he wanted someone with a hand like yours to call, so he could whip you and rake in your chips. He was just pissy because it backfired on him.

Were you holding a 10-8 or a 10-9? I ask only because you mentioned "suited connectors." I don't usually think of 10-8 as connectors.
