Banana Costume

Another vote for the banana suit; that would rock.

I think Adam's point here is that you wear a jersey to a sporting event to make a statement about the event.

If you were to wear Nats gear (or Expos gear) to a Atlanta - St. Louis game, you are likely making the statement that you are rooting for the Cards because you are in the same division as the Braves and you want them to lose, while at the same time you are showing that you aren't really a Cardinals fan, but just a fill-in for the day. Your jersey/gear relates, so in essence it is fine.

If you were to wear a Padres jersey to a Red Sox - Yankees game then you are making the statement that you are a Padres fan and this game is meaningless to you. In this case you're a douche bag because why the heck are you there if you don't give a crap? Sure it might be a great game, but you've taken a ticket from someone who is going to feel so much more emotion and either enjoy or despise the game so much more than you are, and in that sense, you'd be a douche.

If you go to a sporting event and you show up as Switzerland, you're a douche. That's the basic idea.

By the way, i've never cared what anyone wears to the ballpark, although I really like costumes.
